Arlo has been putting both his ninja moves and some new toys to the test this week when we had a delivery of toys from the new Dragon Ball range, which Bandai has released in the UK for the first time. For the uninitiated Dragon Ball is a hugely popular Anime/Manga series featuring Son Goku as he trains in marital arts then heads off to explore the seven orbs known as the Dragon Balls, which summon a wish-granting dragon when gathered. He has to battle a wide variety of villains along the way.

There are a variety of toys available from the range in varying sizes and styles, from blind bag type collectables up to 30cm high Limit Breaker figures. Anything above the collectible figures are poseable and moveable and many come with a second set of accessories or hands, which can be swapped around for different play options!

The Limit Breaker characters include Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Frieza, and are chunky and super detailed, we have Super Saiyan Broly. The Dragon Stars include popular figures from the show including Goku, Vegeta (who we have) Gogeta, Gohan, Bardock, Piccolo, Broly, and Krillin.

Arlo and his sister enjoyed making their own battles with the figures, as well as battling each other (gently… ish!) and Arlo was over the moon with is Son Goku costume, and now he is a “real ninja” apparently! He loved trying out some new moves, and has been shouting HiiiYA quite a lot recently, with Athena giving him scores out of ten for each new move…

The brand new Dragon Ball toys are available on Amazon plus a selection of the range is available at Smyths, Argos, B&M and Game.
