If you’ve ever bought a house you’ll know that once your offer has been accepted that house is at the back of your mind until you move in. I’m constantly thinking about how I’ll decorate it, lay out the furniture, store things and so much more. The new house has two long hallways plus and a staircase with loads of wall space to fill so naturally I am already thinking about how to fill it! Recently an art website got in touch and asked if we’d like to pick some of their unique art from Poster Store to brighten up our home so although we’re not moving in just yet I already have some perfect artwork for the walls. I’ve put some up in our house now to make a change from the prints and frames we’d had up for a few years and I must say it’s nice to have a change!
These three prints caught my eye because although they aren’t a set as such they do compliment each other, with the birds and the big yellow sun. I think they would be perfect in the upstairs hallway above the bookcase (that I don’t have yet, but will!)
I chose poster hangers for these rather than traditional frames, they’re so easy to use as they have little magnets to grip each side of the print and then you can adjust the hanging loop too if you need to.
I also chose this ‘New York’ print, as a reminder of our holiday there earlier this year. I love aerial photos of anywhere, but New York especially! This one will go in our bedroom I think. Ordering prints from Poster Store uk is easy, but be prepared to spend ages on there as there are so many different styles and sizes of prints to browse – not a bad thing! What I found really helpful was the ‘inspiration’ section of the site where you can view different rooms with various styles and colour palettes. The prints are also categorised by nature, typography, maps, black and white and so many more. Once you’ve picked your print you can see the sized that it is available in and then also choose a frame type to fit it as you order – which makes it really easy to ensure you know the frame will fit the print when they arrive.
Prints range from 13x18cm up to 70x100cm, and frames are available in white, black and wooden coloured frames as well as gold, silver and copper.
Next up are these four prints. The two quote prints are destined for the kitchen in the new house, where we have an old chimney breast that I’d like to have a mini picture gallery on, and the Earth and Moon prints will be for Arlo’s bedroom. He really loves space so these will go perfectly for the star wall decals he’s planning on plastering all over the walls in his room!
