This is a collaborative post written by me, in partnership with a brand/company.
If you are anything like me you’ll probably still be wearing big thick coats, scarves and chunky boots as it’s still super chilly at the moment, but I am so fed up with winter clothes and layers, gloves and hats that I’ve been dreaming of a spring wardrobe. We spent the morning strolling around the woods yesterday and there are snowdrops appearing and blossom on some trees, so spring is on the way at least! I’ve been trying to stick to a capsule wardrobe for a few years now, so have started thinking about the items I’ll be taking out of my current ‘winter’ selection and what I might add in for Spring. I’ve been scouring some of my favourite clothing websites for some inspiration, and I think spring should be all about nice layers, but things you can actually see as they’ll not be hidden under thick coats. There are some great transitional dresses for women with sleeves that can be paired with tights and boots when it’s still chilly, or with bare legs when the weather really warms up.
It’s will also be time to start shedding the many fleecy layers of Pyjamas and dressing gowns in favour of lighter night time attire. There’s really nothing nicer than putting on a fresh pair of brand new Pyjamas and kicking back with a drink and a good book or a box set. These three pairs of pyjamas from the women’s clothing selection at Forever Unique look so silky and comfortable. I’m tend to change into comfortable loungewear or pyjamas as soon as I get in for the day, but it’s still nice to feel like you’ve made an effort, even if you’re just hanging out with yourself at home! The lemon print set is super spring feeling too.
I’m also thinking about starting to trade in my boots for trainers and my puffa jacket for something a bit lighter, like a shacket or an oversized blazer. Supposedly white blazers with matching trousers will be one of the top trends this season, but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to do both, but the jacket I think I can pull off. Another spring/summer trend is bulky bags, and that is definitely something I can get on board with, although ‘underwear as outerwear’ is a trend that I don’t think I’ll be experimenting with anytime soon!
