Fashion: A breastfeeding friendly dress & Bo and Bel

I’ve been meaning to start posting more outfit posts for ages now, partly to give myself a reason to dress up a little and partly because I actually have a few nice breastfeeding friendly outfits that might inspire someone looking for boob & baby friendly clothes!

Anyway, here is a current favourite outfit of mine, with the addition of a new teething necklace from Bo and Bel to add a splash of colour to my monochrome wardrobe! Sam snapped

The dress was a bargain sale find from Asos and is a maternity/nursing dress with a lift up top part, and slips open underneath for feeding access, though you have to get quite close up to see it. As my belly definitely has not spring back to anything near its former glory (lets face it, I’ve not had a flat belly since my teens) the generous skirt hides my wobbly bits but the hem still hangs straight so it doesn’t look like a maternity dress. It’s got short sleeves too although you can’t see them so would be great in summer minus the thick tights and boots! The long blazer is from George at Asda, excellent huge pockets but not lined so a bit naff in this weather!

My very baby-friendly necklace is from the selection at Bo & Bel, who have created a whole range of silicone jewellery that is safe for babies to chew on, pull on and play with! When asked if i’d like to pick something for a teething baby to chomp on I jumped at the chance! There are heaps of different styles to choose from, I went for the ‘Maggie’ with three Quadrate beads (flat so perfect for getting to those back teeth!) in blue hues, but there are lots more styles and colour to choose from, including some bangles too!

Each necklace is:
– BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Lead, Mercury free
– 100% non-toxic
– FDA, LFGB, SGS approved
– Non-stick
– Odourless
– Eco-friendly
– Easy to clean

They come on a cord with an easy-release clasp in case baby pulls too hard, so you wont get garotted! I think they’re a wonderful idea and since I’ve been using it I’ve been pinched a lot less during feeds too as he fiddles with this instead of me!
